I am not sure how to pronounce that word. I don’t care though. I like it.
This is one of the new flavors from Tangiers that were released just a short while ago and I have been smoking it for a few days now. The name of this tobacco refers to a kind of morning glory and I’m not sure if it’s supposed to replicate the flavor of the flower, but the smell on this tobacco is similar to a slightly herbal root beer. It’s similar to an old fashioned root beer candy with a somewhat sour note that resembles lemon.
The smoke is exactly what I expect from Tangiers and the smoke is smooth. It does have a little bit of a throat tickle if your overheat the tobacco, but it’s nothing to be concerned about. This tobacco is much easier to manage than the Noir line, but has a similar buzz.
The flavor is like an old fashioned root beer combined with purple NECCO wafers. For some, this may seem like an unpleasant flavor. Personally, I am really loving it. I grew up in an old part of the country where classic candies are still enjoyed on a regular basis and many of those use real herbs and strong essential oils that are considered pretty unpleasant. That’s why modern root beer and ginger beer is a lot less pungent than the original versions.
9 out of 10 I seriously enjoy this flavor. It may not be for everyone, but the combination of great smoking properties and delicious flavor is just about perfect for me. The flavor is usually a high medium strength and has great longevity. Check this one out and see if it strikes your fancy. You just need to be aware that this line still packs a good buzz.
