Sometimes you want a light and airy smoke that won’t knock you about the head with nicotine. This isn’t the tobacco for those times.
This is Nirvana Super Shisha and it’s blended with an extra kick of nicotine in the form of dohka, so don’t make any plans for right after your session. The buzz is potent, but it’s kind of soft in a way and doesn’t seem to give me an upset stomach as easily as some other super strong tobaccos.
For some reason I find the smell on this Nirvana flavor kind of unsettling. It smells good, but it activates something inside of me that gives me the shudders. This had me a bit worried when I first opened this tobacco and I held off smoking it for a long time because of that effect.
Smoking it out of my crown classic bowl, Social Smoke Cairo hookah and Ager hose, I found the clouds to be substantial with a little texture. Don’t chain smoke this one looking to be the smokestack fog machine of the party; you will wind up on the floor with a blank spot in your memory.
The flavor was hard to pin down at first and I thought it might have been a grape and red apple flavor. There is something in the background that reminded me of double apple, but it turns out this is a cherry, strawberry and mint flavor. Strawberry is pretty much not a factor, but that makes sense when you consider that it’s such a hard flavor to reproduce anyway. The cherry is up front and moderately sweet without too many artificial notes. The mint…. I can’t really pick it out. I think the double apple note I detected was a combination of the tobacco coming through and the slight mint note that I couldn’t previously identify.
Final conclusion: It’s pretty good, but very strong and I wish the flavor was clearer. I want a bit more mint and a more natural cherry. Would I recommend it? If you like a strong buzz and a mild cherry flavor with something a little robust in support, go for it. It’s tasty once it’s in the bowl and smoking, so don’t let the smell put you off.
