This will be the last review for a Hooked on Hookah flavor you’re going to see for a while on this blog. I’ve given them a fair crack and the last flavor to step up to the scales in this little run will be Hooked on Hookah Blueberry.
I’ve mentioned before that I found the Hooked on Hookah tobacco to seem poorly mixed or even incomplete, but this flavor seems much more evenly moist and I think that comes through in the smoke a bit. The smoke texture is a little smoother than the other flavors and the taste seems cleaner while the smoke is just as voluminous. Expect big clouds. I’m not sure if this pack was handled differently or if it just had more time to soak, but it’s note worthy.
The flavor is too light. That is my biggest complaint and it is the same gripe that I had about the other two samples. Happily, the blueberry flavoring is not sickeningly sweet or artificial, which is something I hate. I’m still shocked that so many people fall in love with the “Blue” flavors and I’m entirely un-surprised when they get sick of them soon after. I am not a big fan. I prefer flavors to be more realistic and less candied. This is by no means a natural blueberry flavor, so don’t buy this tobacco expecting it to bring back memories of frolicking in Maine, but it is better than some other “Blue” offerings. If it were stronger it would likely replace Nakhla Blueberry in my stash.
If you want a real blueberry flavor then look for a shooting star and wish that Eric at Tangiers will find a blueberry flavoring that is up to his standards and he will start making Tangiers Blueberry again. That was another weak flavor, but it was realistic enough to make up for that fact. If you just want something sweet, uncomplicated and that won’t taste like a blueberry scented air freshener then Hooked on Hookah might be a good option.
